There's a quiet kind of tension that comes with early spring here in New Brunswick - the kind where you can tell winter isn't quite ready to let go. Snow still clings to the ground, the air has that familiar bite, but the light... the light begins to change and warm the air.
This piece was inspired by that in-between moment. The season where everything feels paused, as if the landscape itself is hesitating. You can feel the much anticipated shift coming, even if it hasn't fully arrived yet.
I focused on capturing that contrast in the cool shadows of winter meeting the softer, warmer hints of spring. It's a scene that feels still like winter, but not stagnant... like its holding its breath.
If you've ever stood outside on one of these days where it feels like spring, but still looks like winter, you'll recognize this moment.
